In short – no. USB microphones take care of most of the reasons you would buy an audio interface. By their very nature of connecting to your computer via USB, they obviously have an analogue-digital converter built-in. Some of them, like the Blue Yeti, have gain knobs and most have headphone line-outs for monitoring. If you want to keep your set-up cheap and simple, a good quality USB mic is all you need.
