As dyslexics, we are so visual and super aware of the visual things in our environment. It can be great when we need to remember a restaurant, or where we were on a certain day.. We can describe it like we are there again (we are in our imagination but that’s for another day!)
BUT it also means we get so easily distracted by things that are out of place, or look out of place or keep drawing our attention away from what we are supposed to be doing.
For me it's crooked pictures, odd coloured candles or things that are not symmetrical. I’m completely unable to focus until I have moved the offending item, or straightened them!. It can make me seem so anal, which is crazy really as my mind is chaotic!
