Remembering Bobby Freeman, Irwin Corey, Brunhilde Pomsel, Granddad the Lungfish
Bobby Freeman was a 17 year-old singer who, in 1958, wrote and sang one of the most enduring songs in rock and roll, “Do You Wanna Dance.” The song has been covered many times by everyone from The Beach Boys to The Ramones to Bette Midler. Irwin Corey, “The World’s Foremost Authority”, was a comedian who specialized in doubletalk lectures, and preformed frequently on television in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Brunhlide Pomsel was one of the last remaining figures of The Third Reich. She was Josef Goebbels’s personal secretary. Granddad the Lungfish was the oldest fish in captivity. He was brought to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago in 1933 and was seen by nearly 1.5 million people in his lifetime.
