If we want to get well spiritually, we must understand:

1.  We are imprisoned to our sin just like the multitude was imprisoned to their sickness. (vv. 1-4)

2.  We are helpless to free ourselves from our sin just like this man was helpless to free himself from his sickness. (vv. 5-7)

3.  We receive from Jesus what we need, not necessarily what we want. (vv. 8-9a)

4. Because we are healed by Jesus, we should live for Jesus. (vv. 9b-15)
