What happened to diplomacy, eloquence, decisiveness, and compassion  –in leadership? We ponder shithole countries — the shot heard around the world — and the blatant (repeated) racism. Asking whether he’s a racist is not the right question.

And, a bright spot: Washington Post reports that Washington State may help us save our democracy due to its forward-thinking voting laws and changes in campaign financing.
