Some people feel a sense of power in their level of intelligence. Seeking knowledge is not a bad thing, and there’s nothing wrong with respecting those who dedicate themselves to it. But, within Christianity, focusing too much on the nuances of doctrine can distract us from the heart of God. We also don’t need to be afraid to talk about doctrine within the Church. Everything we believe is doctrine, whether it’s the most basic fundamentals of salvation or any one of those complicated words Pastor Josh just rattled off.
