Dodgers Make Tough & Easy Roster Decisions — Muncy & Vesia Back, Gonsolin & Dean Gone
The Los Angeles Dodgers had until Thursday to decide whether to exercise their club options on Max Muncy and Alex Vesia, and both turned out to be easy decisions, so Muncy and Vesia will be back with LA next year. A little bit harder were some other decisions. The Dodgers had to make room on the 40-man roster for Muncy, and then they needed two more spots when they selected the contracts of minor-leaguers Ryan Ward and Robinson Ortiz. In the end, the roster casualties were former All-Star starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin, World Series defensive replacement Justin Dean, and former pitching prospect Michael Grove.
