Lately it's been very popular to take a DNA test to prove your Native American ancestry. However, there's a big difference between having ancestors who are Native American, and being Native American yourself. We are not a people who bases their identity on blood quantum and genetics as if we were judging the pedigree of a dog or a horse. that system was inflicted upon us by the Bureau of Indian affairs, but it's not our way. This system of identification was no doubt a product of Darwinist mentality. So where does our identity come from? It comes from a strong community link, family, and kinship.
