One major source of suffering is our disobedience to God.  We can bring trouble on our own head or we can bring hurt into the people around us simply by not doing what God directs.  Most of us can recognize and accept it when our pain is our own sin.  What is hard to accept is, if God loves us, why is He allowing us to get hurt by other people's sins?  Thankfully Jesus gave us a parable to help us understand this present situation of having to live with evil.
