If you live on a busy street and are thinking about selling, you might also be thinking...is all the traffic and noise around here going to drag down my house value?
The truth is..maybe. Houses on quieter streets usually get a few more dollars on the open market, but busier streets aren’t all bad new for buyers..here’s how to maximize your house value.
Do everything you can to make the house more attractive to buyers; hire a professional stager, repair any defects, landscape and manicure the front and back yards, and minimize the furniture and clutter inside.
Talk to your realtor about niche marketing the home toward first time buyers or working professionals without children who would be interested in living near the “buzz” of downtown.
Produce a feature sheet for the house that include juicy tidbits about community events, organizations and nearby public amenities so you can highlight the benefits of location.
And keep in mind, even on the busiest street, a properly priced house will always get you the most value when it’s time to sell.
