Digitial Evidence Detection Dogs with Graham Attwood
Graham Attwood together with Tobias Gustavsson & Boki Damis from Gritty K9. Are producing an online training course for digital evidence detection dogs. The course will have step by step guides to help people prepare and train for the newest form of detection dog training.
Trailing K9s has existed since 2019 when Kathryn passed the Mantrailing Global Instructors Course (formerly Mantrailing UK). She then went on to become a Head Instructor for Mantrailing Global in 2020 until 2023. Originally Kathryn ran mantrailing events alongside her Canine Behaviour business. The mantrailing quickly took off, however, and in 2020 – along with a move to North Wales – it became her sole full time business and passion.
Kathryn is dedicated to understanding the body language of dogs when mantrailing. It is this passion that has led her to become obsessed with decoding the on and off trailing behaviour of dogs.
Kathryn passed the Scent Imprint for Dogs Tracking and Trailing Instructor Course in 2024, and is also working on the K9 IlMa Global Training Handler course.
She also hosts an online platform where she shares monthly videos to help others decode the theory behind mantrailing as a sport.
In this episode I chat with Mantrialing Australian Dog Trainers Louis Mcgrath - Owner / Instructor from Manhunt K9 who stumbled across Mantrailing when a friend shared a photo of Jeff Schettler’s book “Two Weeks to Operational Tracking”. He bought a copy of the book, and was instantly hooked on the concept. Then the experimenting with his German Shepherd Erma began.
And Creature Connections Dr. Ingrid – Behaviour Vet, qualified trainer, Fear Free certified professional, and urban search and rescue dog handler.
Mantrailing Global was originally born as 'Mantrailing UK' after Founder, Lisa Gorenflo, discovered Mantrailing in Germany and quickly became hooked. Upon returning home to the UK, she began searching for this kind of training but was disappointed to not find anything available. There was only one option: to start a Mantrailing club. At the time, Lisa already had an established dog training business so began introducing Mantrailing as a new service to offer her clients, all the while continuing her training in Germany gaining her status as a Certified Mantrailing Instructor.
As it received more and more interest, Lisa saw the benefits that Mantrailing was having on the participating dogs and their owners. She then made the decision to begin offering Mantrailing Introduction courses to her already thriving dog-training business. Very quickly, Mantrailing took off as a new dog sport and began to take up all of Lisa’s time! Not only did she have pet owners travelling across the country to participate, but other dog trainers became addicted and wanted to offer it to their clients also.
Eventually, Lisa made the decision to coach and train up some new instructors which developed into the esteemed Mantrailing UK Instructor course, or as it stands today, Mantrailing Global Instructor course: An international organisation maintaining high standards of Mantrailing training with instructors spread internationally across the globe.
