American companies and other companies from around the world cannot trust the governments where they may want to open their businesses.  They may also not trust those that they employ locally to run their businesses.  The current issue of Adidas scandal in India is a great example.  They trusted their hired administrators and now their ex CEO and ex COO of their Indian operations are in jail.  This is but one of many such travesties that are happening to those companies who come to a democracy to do business.  Banks from the West that have come to the East to do business are having the same kinds of problems.  Royal Bank of Scotland has basically sold all of its overseas operations, because of the rampant lack of integrity in the local banking operations.
