Quadriplegia at 17 to MD, Anesthesiologist/Critical Care Physician
One week before graduating from high school Jaffer Odeh was in a car accident leaving him with Quadriplegia. Determined to become a physician, Jaffer was released from the hospital into a wheelchair and out to class at University of Michigan. “Nothing would stop me,” he said.
The willpower that returned him to class that day carried him through his years of rigorous medical training AND through hearing naysayers tell him to give it up! When they told him “you can’t” he gracefully said “I disagree.”
Today he’s not only a successful Anesthesiologist and Critical Care physician—he holds the prestigious position of Associate Professor at UT Southwestern Medical School.
This is an episode on PURE GRIT! Be inspired to believe in yourself & JUST DO IT!
