The FDA and Dole Diversified North America now recall Dole Fresh Blueberries.  Some cases of this product are contaminated with Cyclospora.  This parasite causes a gastroenteritis accompanied by severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, body aches, and fatigue.  It can be treated with antibiotics.  The affected product was distributed and sold ion IL, ME, NY, and WI as well as in the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.  If you have this product at home, don’t consume it but call Dole Consumer Center at 1-800-356-3111 to see if the lot you have is affected and to arrange for a refund.
