Starting next week, Tazewell County Libraries will be launching their portion of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This program was originally launched by the Dollywood Foundation in 1995 to provide free books to young children in her home area of Sevier County, Tennessee. All kids under the age of 5 are eligible to receive a free book through the mail in order to promote early literacy. On the 21st, the Morton Public Library Reading Garden will be hosting a kick-off celebration at 10:30 am.
In order to register for the program either attend the kick-off event on the 21st or visit imaginationlibrary.com. The program will also be accepting donations at 135 S. First Avenue, Morton, IL, 61550.
