Today’s conversation is one I’ve really been looking forward to.
My guest, Kat Polsinelli, is a speaker, survivor, and advocate who is doing profoundly important work in spaces most people don’t fully understand—domestic violence, emotional and psychological abuse, law enforcement training, and higher education.
Kat spent a decade in an abusive relationship, raising two young boys while navigating a reality that, from the outside, didn’t always look like what people imagine abuse to be. Her experience wasn’t defined only by physical harm—but by the psychological, emotional, and invisible dynamics that so often go unseen, misunderstood, or minimized.
What makes Kat’s work so powerful is not just her story—but where she’s taking it. She now speaks directly to law enforcement officers, universities, and future social workers, helping them understand the hidden context behind domestic violence calls, trauma responses, and survivor behavior. She bridges compassion with accountability, education with lived truth.
She’s also in the process of building a nonprofit designed to provide long-term, meaningful support for survivors—especially those who never received it when they needed it most.
This is a conversation about agency, healing, responsibility, systems, truth, and hope—and I am honored to share it with you.
Please welcome, Kat Polsinelli.
