DMV Spotlight on 6-8-25 shines a light on Domestic Violence as the images of Sean Combs assaulting Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway plays on repeat during Combs trial. Executive Director of My Sister’s Place in DC, Mercedes Lemp, says she has not noticed any uptick in cases, but says the non profit that assists survivors of Domestic Abuse always has more cases than they can help.

Lemp explains the cycle of abuse as well as the financial manipulation that can trap women –and sometimes men—in domestic abuse situations.
