Domestic violence spiked in Illinois over last year

Domestic violence deaths were up more than one-hundred-percent in Illinois last year.   Advocates for victims say a firearms were used in nearly 70-percent of those killings.   Those groups are pushing for new laws that would prompt seizure of weapons in domestic violence cases.     Vickie Smith is the former executive director and consultant for the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She joins Tom Ackerman and Megan Lynch.
