Over the weekend, in one of his signature Coach’s Corner rants, Don Cherry seemed to single out immigrants for not wearing poppies, referring to them as “you people.” On Monday he was fired from his long-standing Hockey Night in Canada segment by Sportsnet, and continued to defend his comments today, but says he would have “used different words.”
