In September of 2015 I sat down with Don Harness in his kitchen. When I arrived, one of his daughters was cleaning up the kitchen after making breakfast. His wife was there and was very happy that we were conducting the interview.
Don passed away a short time later in November. It was based of a suggestion from City commision hopeful, Shannon Dick. I had heard of Don in conversations about the Windsor and I had seen him around the town.
I had a great time getting to know Don. At the time of the recording I was in a very bad place mentally. I was starting to feel that because of my illness that I would never be able to find any footing in myself. Don was handed a very challenging deck of cards. So many hardships that were out of his control, yet he chose to live right up until the very end minus complant. He made me feel like anything was possible.
Be like Don.
