A Donegal Independent Councillor is warning that any cuts to Fire services resources could threaten the safety of the general public.

The Donegal Firefighters are calling on elected public representatives to intervene immediately and for management to engage in meaningful discussions with unions.

They claim a decision taken by senior management has seen a reduction in crew numbers along the removal of the second fire tender impacts the ability of fire personnel to tackle large-scale fires, road traffic collisions, and life-threatening emergencies.
