💥 Join me today on the podcast (link below) as I exhort: We are now slaves to righteousness and not sin! Whomever you obey, you become a slave. Sin is no longer your master. Sin still wants to take you captive. But be ever mindful, sin is deceitful! It appears subtle at first, fair and pleasant, but is actually filthy and has a harmful gradual effect. Before you know it, you’ll be caught right back in its clutches by the hardening of your hearts towards righteous and holy living! It tricks us into wanting what we know will destroy us. Sin disguises itself and conceals its nature, forms excuses for itself, and leads people on to more and more sins that have eternal consequences. Sin draws much strength from the fact that it dwells in the heart, which is deceitful and ultimately incomprehensible. Hebrews 3:13 teaches, “But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication].” We must escape from sin by escaping from the temptations, not cozying up to them. We must make a 100-percent commitment to always obey God's commands and to flee from temptation.
The problem with living according to the flesh is you will surely die in your sins. God will not be mocked; He will not allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside (study Galatians 6:7-8). Many who have called on the Name of the Lord to be saved are being deceived through false doctrines that accommodate the mind to stay set on the flesh where worldly immoral desires have their way in the life of those whose hearts are hardening to the stringent teachings of Jesus Christ.
Sin is not your friend. It is your enemy! Satan’s system is a very effective one. When we give in to temptations to sin, we fall into a trap and too often we tighten the noose around our own necks. Sin has its pleasures, and each sin plants the seeds of future sins. As the apostle Paul said, who we obey determines whether we will be slaves of God or of “sin leading to death” (Romans 6:16). So, “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ.”
FORSAKE SIN! CONSIDER YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO IT DEAD AND BROKEN!
COME OUT OF BABYLON! BE YE SEPARATE! FORSAKE THE WORLD AND ABIDE IN CHRIST JESUS!
