Comparison can be a slippery slope. A slippery slope, by definition, is "an idea or course of action which will lead to something unacceptable, wrong, or disastrous."
Not everything is a slippery slope, but some things can really be. Comparisons can be a slippery slope. Comparing yourself to others limits your ability to be who you were called to be because you are chasing someone else's dream.
Comparison can cause discontentment, envy, jealousy, and even depression. While the fruit of those feelings can lead to even greater sin. In Genesis 4, we see the first murder in the Bible, where a man kills his brother because of jealousy.
Be who God has called you to be and rejoice with who God has called others to be.
