I’ve heard the advice from a few different sources recently: be careful not to be too advanced or technical or specialized with your content because you may end up talking over people’s heads. 

I get it.  And there is some truth to that.

However, we have to be careful to not interpret this as saying dumb down your content so that you can reach more people.  Remember, you don’t need everyone, you just need the right ones. 

The audience that was meant for you will find you as long as you’re staying true to your message and mission.  And you’ll of course refine how you communicate that message and mission over time so that your content is more effective. 

The main thing is not to sacrifice your message and mission for the sake of views and followers.
