In 1993, Jim Valvano inspired a crowd of sports enthusiasts with these words: "Don't give up, don't ever give up."

At the time, Valvano was battling cancer. He lived with excruciating pain and a bleak prognosis. He was in a position to give up.

But he didn't.

Through foundation he chose to leave an enduring legacy of hope, encouragement and inspiration.

Valvano's story touches on one of the seven characteristics of God's love, and it is this: Love never gives up. It perseveres and endures to the end.

God never gives up on you. He never turns his back on you or walks away.
