January 2022, we're all wanting to grow our business. We're all wanting to DMN8 our market. We definitely want to get to the next level. One thing that can keep you from getting to the next level is not understanding taxes or falling into the tax trap. Look, every dime you make every piece of revenue that you make has the ability to be taxed. Having a professional on your side, like a CPA or a tax attorney, if you're really rolling is important to helping you keep as much of that revenue from taxes as possible. That's the way the tax code is set up in the United States. It's a game of them putting out rules, but also ways to circumvent the rules and not have to pay legally. Of course, we're not talking about the illegal ways. You should always pay what you, what you owe and you should report your income. But after that, having a CPA, having a tax advisor who knows their sh*t is gonna help you keep as much of that money in your pocket as possible. For instance, if you're a W2 employee and you make a hundred dollars, that W2 is probably gonna produce about 72% of that in income, $720, right? Or $72, a hundred dollars, 72%, $72. With a business, you own a business, a hundred dollars comes into your business. You don't wanna pay tax on that a hundred dollars. You don't wanna pay tax on $50. You only wanna pay tax on really, what is the profit? So if you turn a 30% net profit, if you turn a 20% net profit, like you wanna pay tax on $30 of the hundred, or $20 of the hundred, how do you do that? Well, you keep good track of expenses. You allow a professional to be involved in your tax preparation, you professional to do the tax preparation and you allow the professional to advise you on what you should and shouldn't do. Going into Facebook groups or asking your best friend, like what would you do are dumb. If you were charged with murder, would you go into Facebook and go, Hey, how should I plead? Or would you go hire an attorney who is an expert in the field of getting people off of murder charges and asking them, what should I do? Me? I'm hiring many attorneys. That's what I'm doing. But too many times as business owners, we get into our Facebook groups and we say things like, "Hey, I don't wanna have to pay taxes on this, so what should I do this? How should I do this? When should I do this?" No, bro. No! Hire a CPA. Get a trusted tax professional that helps you develop a plan for taxes. So you don't fall into the tax trap and you DMN8 the day.
