Our pets are family. They love us unconditionally, provide emotional support, empathy, and joy in our lives. For someone experiencing domestic abuse, a pet can be even more - it could be their lifeline, their comfort, and their reason for existing. They truly are family. We have an incredible guest joining us today to talk about a very serious topic so many of our SYTT support group members have mentioned - the ability to take your pets with you when you escape abuse, because NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN SAFETY AND FAMILY.
