In 2010, the McStay family mysteriously vanished from their California home, and their remains were discovered buried in the desert three years later. Joey McStay’s business partner, Chase Merritt, was convicted of their murders in 2019, with prosecutors alleging financial motive and a trail of circumstantial evidence. Merritt maintains his innocence to this day, claiming he was framed and that key suspects were overlooked.
