I was totally off base. Although I'm pretty sure I've heard it explained as such, the term 90 day wonder is a reference to the officers candidate school (or OCS) founded in the 1940's and used to overcome the loss of officers due to the second world war.

Hey there! My name is Copeland, I’m 23 years old and I am in love with my God and savior Jesus Christ. He gives rest to our weary souls and strength to them that need it. I’m currently 8,553 miles from home and it has me thinking; how can we be so far from what we know and yet when we attend a church service, lift our voices and raise our hands I’m suddenly home?

Perhaps it’s the fact that believers are there and as my brothers and sisters in my heavenly Father’s house, that’s a perfect description. :)
