When you enter a competition you make sure that you are both ready to perform well, and you also make sure you have nothing getting in the way of your performance. You wear the right shoes, you eat the right food, you listen to the right music, all to help you perform better. We need to do the same thing in our faith journey. If something is getting in the way of our pursuit of Jesus, we need to get rid of it.
