I have counseled thousands of believers in sharing the Good News. Throughout the years, I’ve noticed that the biggest stumbling blocks in spreading the Gospel involve fear. People are afraid of sharing the Good News of Jesus because they might be rejected, or they might fail in their attempt to tell God’s story. Some people say they’re afraid that they don’t know enough, and others are afraid that opening up will cause the loss of a relationship.
The thing is, fear is natural. But as believers, we are seeking to live in God’s supernatural courage. When we’re preparing to share the Good News, we must remember that fear is not from God, but rather, a tool used by the enemy. When we focus on God’s love, and that “Christ lives in me,” we’re concerned less with fear.
The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7 that “God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of love, power, and self-control.” So this week, immerse yourself in Jesus and take on His courage. Then, share the Good News prayerfully and reach your world fearlessly. It will be the best thing you do, and you’ll have the pleasure of knowing that you are an obedient follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.
