Our Guest today is Katie Mullan. Katie is an Irish hockey player and is the current captain of the Women’s national team. Katie led her country to sporting history in August 2018 captaining the first ever Irish team in any sport to reach a World Cup Final.
In 2019 Katie lead Ireland to more history by beating Canada in a play-off to become the first ever women’s Irish team, in any sport, to qualify for the Olympic Games. Katie made her hockey debut for Ireland in 2012, has amassed over 170 international caps for Ireland, with100 of those caps coming before the age of 22.
In this episode we talk to Katie about her preparations for the upcoming Olympics in Japan, the challenges of being a full time amateur athlete whilst having to work to pay the bills and how she has dealt so successfully with juggling so many plates whilst becoming an icon for aspiring young athletes in Ireland.
Don’t Look Back In Anger's primary objective is to highlight to high earning, talented individuals that they need to take action with their financial planning today, to ensure they have freedom, choices and peace of mind in the future.
The podcast will humanise household stars, most of who openly acknowledge they wish they began planning for their future earlier – even at the height of their careers. We will be joined by my co-hosts Mark Pittaccio, behavioural economist, who will help shed light onto why we all struggle to take action and do the basics, even when in principle everybody agrees with the sentiment. Brendan Macken, retired Rugby Professional will round off our panel with direct insights into the changing room and behind the player’s mindsets.
