Don't Miss Out On God's Banquet (Luke 14:1-24)

“If you died tonight, and Jesus asked you, “Why should I let you into my Kingdom”, what would you say? The assumption of most people in most places is that they’ll basically be ok. At funerals, people assure one another “he’s in a better place”, “her suffering is over”, “he’s with God now”. Our general default perception is that if I’ve been sincere in my religion, and morally good, God will welcome me in. But Jesus there are people who think they will be in heaven who will not. Not because they have not been invited, but because they have refused the invitation. And Jesus wants us to understand why.

b)     Proud praise-seeker (7-11)

 

  

c)     Self-serving snob (12-14)

3.    Will you accept the invitation?
