There is an aspect of long term unemployment that takes place when individuals cannot seem to find opportunities for work. People drop out of the labor force and just give up looking. This can be especially true with the Coronavirus. The impact the pandemic has made opportunities for work fluctuate. At some point job openings become available. But when incidents of increased infection occurs, there is a risk of businesses shutting down and reducing work opportunities. People may just be frustrated to the point of not willing to look for work. But quitting a job search is the worst thing anyone can do.
