Tough passage in the Sermon on the Mount. Historically, it has been the source of a lot of misunderstanding and harm. Is Jesus telling a rape victim to not resist? A black teen who is being treated unjustly that they shouldn't do something? Or a spouse that he/she should go back and submit to an abusive spouse because of obedience to Jesus???? GOD HELP US! NO. There is another way of understanding Jesus' comments in light of the entirety of the Sermon on the Mount. Help us get this podcast out there to people who have been so hurt by teaching on this that enables abuse and injustice.
