Whether or not you’ve read one of Daniel’s works, you probably have made use of a technology he helped develop during his IT career, which is one of the many subjects we cover in our conversation.

Here’s some of the other topics we discussed:

  • The role of books in Daniel’s childhood
  • The power and importance of perspective
  • The unique experience of growing up in Michigan in the 80’s and how  it shaped Daniel and his career path
  • The problems with ‘settling’
  • How Daniel got stuck in his IT career for longer than he wanted to
  • The important role writing plays in his life beyond a career
