There's more in the Word about abandoning your
beliefs than there is about unbelief.
Rom 16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who
cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine
which you learned, and avoid them.18 For those who
are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their
own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech
deceive the hearts of the simple.
2 John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the
world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the
flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked
for, but that we may receive a full reward.
9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of
Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine
of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not
receive him into your house nor greet him;
11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
2 Thes 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the
traditions which you were taught, whether by word or
our epistle
1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter
times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to
deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons
