Don't Stop Praying III
Today’s Scripture:
1 Samuel 1:11-12 KJV
[11] And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him
unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. [12] And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.
This is a very familiar story. It is the Story of Hannah, the mother of Samuel, the only prophet in Israel whom the Bible refers to as none of his words fall to the ground. That's powerful; they mean everything he says came to pass. The backstory to this text is that Hannah was barren. She could not have children. She had a sister who was popping them out and showing off on her. So, Hannah
was a woman of sorrow she was in desperation mode when she prayed for a son. Sometimes, we have to be in desperation to continue to pray.
Hannah did not worry about what anyone had to say about her or anything that was external to her. She was a woman with a need; she was desperate for God's answer and miracle that she did not stop praying. The Bible says she continued praying. I love that. She continued praying; that's praying without ceasing; that's praying until you've prayed. The issue with us not remaining in the place of prayer is that we are not desperate enough. Hannah needed God's intervention, and she knew one way to get that was to continue to pray and cry out to Yahweh. In doing this, God answers Hannah's prayer. And blessed her with a son, Samuel, the prophet of Israel, whose words never fell to the ground.

What you are praying for will bring deliverance to others, which is why God requires consistent prayer. Because the enemy contends with our prayers and accuses us before the Lord, but if we remain consistent and keep on believing, God is obligated to respond. Remember the story of the unjust judge who did not fear the Lord in Luke 18; Jesus used this parable to express to his disciples how
they should pray. In essence, he says, a widow kept coming to this unjust judge for justice, and he was ignoring her, but because she kept bothering him, he said, I better do something or else she's going to continue to come and either my peace.
Jesus says this is how you're supposed to pray. In other words, Jesus tells them when they pray to bother God none, stop, pray continually, pray without ceasing, never give up when praying, do not faint, bother God day and night; Jesus said and he will respond, and he must respond because God is just and he's a good father. He loves you and wants you to have the best, but prayer is the channel that provokes God's response and mercy on our behalf. Family, don't stop praying, bother God, and keep on believing. He will respond because he is a faithful God.
