Right now, we live in a time where human beings have more access to more information at the tuoch of a button, but for some reason, some still go back and ask their parents for advice. Each generation gets smarter and smarter with the advancement of technology and information readily available.
When our parents were coming up, they got their information from their parents who probbably, depending on how old you are, grew up during the Great Depression where scarcity and conservation was a way of life.
And everything that our parents taught us was based on outdated information that doesn't apply to today.

As entreprneuers, we think asking our parents about starting a business.
Would you ask a butcher how to code a program?
NO.
The same goes for asking anyone who has not done what you are trying to do.
Our parents can be many thigns to us, but at the end of the day, they should not be your first source of information.
You'll be met by resistance, inaccurate information, and this could send you on a wild goose chase that ends in you delaying your progress on your climb to the top.
If you want to know something, Google has thousands of links to take you where you're trying to go quickly and accurately.
