In John 14:1-3, just hours before the most emotionally disturbing events of their lives, Jesus tells his diciples not to let their hearts be troubled.  Jesus goes on to talk about how their needs at all levels will be addressed in eternity and nothing can take that away from a believer.  It is that hope in the eternal which allows the believer to weather the storms of this life.
