Mel’s Mindful Moments S1-E15 transcript: 

Did you know that you can’t really “Save Time”? Because “Time”, never stops! We have no “Pause” button to press. 

What we can do however is maximize our time. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard people say, “I need more hours in a day!”. To which which I say, “Not really, you just need to learn how to manage the hours you do have.” I mean let’s look at nature for a second. 

Everything in nature has a set timetable. Things don’t happen all at once. You can’t plant a seedling today and expect it to be a full grown shade tree the next, or the next week for that matter. Everything has a set time. Seasons come and go at their appointed times. 

It’s the same with your time. So don’t try to cram everything you need to do at once. There are several ways you can organize it, but that's beyond my discussion here. But I will say is this, just focus on one thing at a time, and then move on to the next. 

One simple method I use is the power of three. I simply… 

… identify 3 things I must complete today. 

… 3 things I must complete this week. 

… 3 things I must complete this month. 

… and 3 things I must complete this year. 

The three I work on today supports the three for the week. The three for the week, supports the three for the month. And the three for the month, supports the three for the year. I think you get the idea... 

Everyone can think of three things. It’s when we try to think on too many things at once, that we become overwhelmed. 

So let the number three be your ultimate time management tool. And... You’ll never waste time again.
