With the season down to the last couple of games, the Nets are still going to need to rely on Patty Mills down the stretch and then for whatever playoff run they make. Much has been made about a drop-off in his shooting over the second half of the season, but are all of the narratives true? Not really. Doug Norrie takes a look at Mills’ season and why certain storylines around the shooter just aren’t totally correct. He looks at the numbers over the course of the season and the stories fans end up telling themselves to make sports make sense. 

And then there’s talk about the Nets cutting James Johnson in favor of covering Kessler Edwards’ two-way contract for the remainder of the season. It’s a somewhat surprising move all things considered.
