#012. Host, Kirsten Dickins and her guest Ellon Cockrill touch on array of topics pivotal to a basic and empowering understanding of the disease and resources. Kirsten is the Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Arkansas Chapter and has worked in non-profit and development in Central Arkansas for thirteen years.

She believes the work of the Alzheimer’s Association is critical to ensuring a healthy future for our fellow Arkansans. She knows the Association’s focus on providing critical care for all affected, accelerating research and promoting brain health is the path to realizing a world without Alzheimer’s disease. 

Kirsten is a graduate of Louisiana State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising and a Minor in Mass Communications. An outdoor enthusiast, she lives in Little Rock with her husband, John, and four children: Jack, Sawyer, Amelie and Liza.

Ellon Cockrill stepped into the role of Board Chair for the Alzheimer's Association's Central Arkansas Leadership Council two years ago and has been instrumental in helping the chapter build a broader volunteer base and increase awareness of the disease and Association. Her experience as a caregiver in her own personal life have given her a deep understanding of the burden  Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia place on families.
