#007. The truth is you can't dictate things with your loved one with dementia, so if you can actually sit down and have a relaxed fun recorded conversation - at any stage of the disease - then what a joyful moment. Mom's  short term memory is non-existent, but she knows who she is, who I am and where she is, so I'm grateful for that reality, today.  I've tried to sit down with mom before but could tell the situation would not be beneficial for either of us. But today she appeared settled and I was peaceful, so I decided to take my rolling podcast table outside in the backyard to record. This is her favourite place to be. With us both relaxed and weather beautiful I just let the moment unfold - making it a sweet time to document.
