On this episode I speak to Donzell Lamkins who is a LCSW a husband, father, psychotherapist and consultant committed to helping people identify and overcome barriers prohibiting them from reaching their full potential. Donzell has extensive experience working with men, fathers, and families to navigate life events and transitions, adapt to change, strengthen coping and distress tolerance skills, and begin their ongoing healing journey, recognizing and centering his clients as the experts and leaders of their lives. Donzell is passionate about mental health, especially pertaining to parental wellness.
We talk about the importance of fathers mental health not only for the family but for the entire community. 
Donzell shares with us his experience through the transition into fatherhood.
He shares with us ways in which we can identify if and when our partner may be struggling with his mental health.
He speaks on how easy it is to simply disregard emotions and how much more challenging it is to sit with them.
We hear him share the importance of feeling our emotions.
He also gives us a few things that are in his toolbox that help him take care of his wellbeing and also benefit his son. 
He shares the importance of getting to know ourselves as it helps us identify what we need.
