The Doomsday clock clicks ever closer to catastrophe. In fact, in 2023 it is the closest ever since the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientist began measuring the metaphorical timepiece. The Doomsday clock moved from 100 seconds to 90 seconds measuring the theoretical point of annihilation. The loss of 10 seconds is due mainly to the War in Ukraine and veiled threats of nuclear warfare as well as the existential threat of climate change facing everyone on earth. The Doomsday clock points out we are living in unprecedented danger.
