Doris Loayza es una Quechua hablante, nacida en Llamellin, un pueblo de los Andes Peruanos. Ella está orgullosa de hablar el Quechua porque así se siente conectada con la naturaleza, sus costumbres. In 2007 se mudó a la ciudad de Nueva York donde realiza talleres con niños usando el arte, cuentos y la naturaleza para promover comunidad y respeto a la naturaleza. Todos los años retorna a su pueblo donde realiza talleres de arte con niños quechuahablantes, su meta es crear un Centro de Arte en esa región donde se siga promoviendo y preservando el Quechua como una forma de ver el mundo. En 2012, planea empezar una maestría en Estudios Latinoamericanos con enfoque en estudios andinos.

Doris Loayza is a Quechua speaker, originally from Llamellín, a village in the Peruvian Andes. She is a proud speaker of Quechua, a language strongly connected with nature. She holds a B.S. in psychology from Universidad de San Marcos in Lima. In 2007 she moved to New York, where she leads workshops for children using art, storytelling, and nature. She returns each year to Llamellín to offer arts education workshops in Quechua. She envisions creating an Arts Center in the region to help promote and preserve Quechua as a way of life. In 2012, she plans to begin a Masters in Latin American Studies with a focus on Andean Studies.
