Dorsey Salerno was born in Baltimore, the daughter of an Argentine mother and a father from Maryland. She went to

The Bryn Mawr School,in Baltimore, the University of Rocheste with a B.A. degree in French and History. Salerno also attended NYU with an M.A. in French. She won a short story contest in Writer's Digest Magazine. Dorsey wrote many short stories and novels. She has been mostly known for Latin for Beginners" , "Latin in Motion", and “ The Bacchus Claim”. Salerno knows Latin, French, Italian and Spanish. Dorsey Salerno is now 89 years old and still teaching five students via phone .
