In 1951, Guy Burgess and Donald Maclean, two British foreign office employees, scrambled onto a boat. Their destination, Moscow. But they weren't on a mission, they were defecting. This would be the first event in a chain reaction which lead to the biggest scandal in British intelligence and one that has inspired countless works of fiction.
