A 66-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman have died after getting into difficulties at Shellharbour Beach, south of Wollongong, just after 11am. Members of the public brought them to shore and began CPR, and paramedics continued treatment, but both could not be saved. Relatives of the pair were believed to be on the beach when the tragedy occurred.
